Review the full package

Check pay, pension, hours, workplace, remote work, holiday and start date. Policies, collective terms and bonus plans referenced by the agreement may also matter.

  • Are verbal promises included in writing?
  • Are pension and bonus terms clear?
  • Are hours and workplace unambiguous?

Find terms that restrict you

Read probation, notice, overtime, outside work, confidentiality and any non-compete or non-solicitation terms carefully.

Clarify uncertainty in writing

Mark missing documents and ambiguous wording. Ask the employer to confirm changes in writing and seek local professional advice for important unclear terms.

General information, not legal advice. Important terms should be assessed under your specific agreement and the rules that apply to it.
